Our first full day started out with heavy rain. It was a good day to explore the museums of The Smithsonian on the National Mall. The oldest building on the Mall is the red sandstone Smithsonian Castle. It was a starting point to get information about all the Smithsonian Museums. We visited the Natural History Museum, the American History Museum, the National Archives, the Air and Space Museum, and the National Gallery of Art.
